Teen art class: Artist Ilanai Prieve will teach teens how to express themselves through drawing, painting and sculpting in a free art class from 2 to 4 p.m. July 10 and 17 at the Willmar Public Library; space is limited, pre-registration is required, call 320-235-3162 or sign up at the library.

DEMO Inc.

DEMO Inc. (Developing Exploring Maintaining Originality through the arts) will have several classes this summer for high school students and adults. The fee for each class includes all materials. Introduction to papermaking: Learn the basics of "western style" papermaking, from beating the pulp, pigmenting, pulling a sheet, couching, pressing and drying. Techniques for designing in "the wet," will include multi color sheet pulling, pulp painting, stenciling and a unique way to use a today, 9 a.m. to noon July 10, 4 to 7 p.m. July 22 and 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 10; adults $50, teens $25.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop: Two-day class to learn how to use Photoshop 7.0 with basic manipulation in the program using quick keys, cutting and pasting art images into a template and printing your own artwork; 3 to 5 p.m. July 13-14, noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 4-5; adults $50, teens $25.

Adobe Photoshop 2: Two-day class using Photoshop 7.0 with digital manipulation creating your own composition. Bring one to five digital images to combine with archived images. Introduction to Adobe Photoshop is a pre-requisite; 6to 8 p.m. July 14-15; adults $50, teens $25.

Garden sculpture class: Two-day class separated by drying time. Press clay into a face mold that will be used on our garden sculpture and use a slab roller to create two small tiles and experiment with a variety of textures and learn how to apply other clay images to your tiles. In the second day you will roll out a large slab to be used as a base to attach the face you made in the first session. You must attend both session; 1 to 3 p.m. today and 3 to 5 p.m. July 15; adults $80, teens $25.

Tile class: Two-day class separated by firing times. Roll a clay slab for a tile and use tools and textures to decorate it and it will be bisque fired. In the second day, use underglaze to add a full array of colors to the tile. Once tiles are glazed they will need to be fired again. Bring pictures of flowers, animals, designs, etc. that you may want to use as inspiration or reference in making your tiles; 9 to10:30 a.m. July 13 and 1 to 2:30 p.m. July 30; adults $50, teens $25.

Introduction to book arts: Two day class to practice the basics of gluing up book board and creating three book structures that can be reproduced in a variety of sizes including origami, accordion and receipt book; 1 to 3 p.m. July 9-10, 10 a.m. to noon July 14-15, 4 to 7 p.m. July 22-23; adults $50, teens $25.

Book art sampler: Two day class to practice the basics of book art. The first of three will be a hand/applause stitched book, second a meandering folded book and the third is teacher's choice; 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 4-5, 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 11-12; adults $50, teens $25.

Open studio time: Anyone who has previously taken a corresponding class from DEMO can use the paper lab, ceramics studio equipment or the computer lab for a three hour session. Open studio 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 to 4 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m., July 22, 23, Aug. 11, 12; adults $10 per session, teens $5, pre-registration is required.
