Minnesota Music Teachers

The Minnesota Music Teachers Association is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the value of music study and music making in society and supporting the professionalism of music teachers. This state group is part of the Music Teachers National Association that advocates for the profession on the national level. The following two programs are open to both members and non members and will be at Schmitt Music, 14200 Wayzata Boulevard, Minnetonka. New member orientation

Minnetonka, Sept. 19, 10:30 a.m. to noon, Schmitt Music; Dr. Marianne Bryan will lead a Minnesota Music Teachers Association new member orientation. She will cover the 2009-10 handbook and review programs available to MMTA members. There will be time for questions and networking. No registration is necessary for this free seminar.

Studio management and business

Minnetonka, Sept. 19, 1:15 to 4:30 p.m., Schmitt Music; explore the side of teaching that is not as comfortable for all teachers. Three areas will be explored: marketing and professional image, website development, and business planning. Pre-registration is required, $25 by Sept. 11, limited to 50; if space is available $27 at the door.
