Arthur Falk May 23, 1934 - May 6, 2013

MONTEVIDEO - Arthur Falk, 78, of Montevideo, formerly of Kerkhoven, died Monday, May 6th at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. His funeral will be 10:00 am, Saturday, May 11th at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church in Kerkhoven. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Friday at Harvey Anderson Kerkhoven Funeral Home in Kerkhoven, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Arthur was born on May 23, 1934, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Ernest and Aina "Rena" (Enevoldson) Falk. He grew up on the farm near Clarkfield and following his schooling he continued to work on the family farm. Art eventually started his own trucking company, both hauling livestock and repairing trucks.

On March 2, 1957, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Clara Aslakson in rural Starbuck. Following their marriage, they lived in Montevideo and Alexandria before moving to Kerkhoven in 1972. He continued to own and operate his own truck business, Art’s Repair, until retiring in the mid 1990’s.

He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and playing cards (especially Pinochle, Buck and Hand & Foot). Art cherished the time that Sylvia and he were able to camp and travel.

Surviving are his children, Richard (and Loretta) Falk of Kerkhoven; Sharyl (and Steve) Syverson of Kerkhoven; Annelle (and special friend, Rod Johnson) Guillemard of Murdock; five grandchildren, Travis (and Lisa) Falk, Matthew Falk, Shayla (and fiancé, Tom Denaway) Syverson, Shawn (and fiancé, Jenna Radig) Syverson and Victoria Guillemard. Also surviving is his special friend, Carol Crosby of Montevideo and niece, Julie (and Doug) Maus of Montevideo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sylvia in 2008 and brother, Percy (and Barb) Falk and nephew, David Falk.
