Arthur Paulson June 15, 1924 - June 9, 2009
GRANITE FALLS -- Arthur "Art" Theodore Paulson, 84, of Granite Falls, died Tuesday at his home.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Church of Christ in Granite Falls with military honors following the service.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
He was born June 15, 1924, in Appleton to Alfred and Myrtle (Vangen) Paulson. He was raised by Reid and Nina Steinka in Clotho. He was a cook in the Army during World War II stationed in Japan and Hawaii.
He married Shirley Payne on Jan. 11, 1948, in rural Redwood Falls. He became a mechanic at the Pure Oil Station in Olivia and, in 1958, moved to Granite Falls where he owned and operated Paulson's Radiator Shop until he retired in 1989. During his retirement years, he made and sold wood items at local craft fairs and had a daily newspaper route for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife; children: Larry (and Linda) Paulson of Montevideo, Jerry (and Janell) Paulson of Granite Falls, Terry (and special friend Mary Holien) of Hazel Run, Barb (and Allen) Torke of Wood Lake, and Sue (and special friend Billie Weinhold) of Cottonwood; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Cathy Paulson.
