Hymns, folk song concert is Saturday
WILLMAR -- The West Central Singers present "Great Hymns and Folk Songs" in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Willmar.
Some of the well-known hymns will include "Shall We Gather At The River" and the "Pilgrims' Hymn" by Stephan Paulus, along with spirituals and a medley of Stephen Foster's music.
Instrumental soloists include cellist Marie Carlson and organist Marcia Overton.
Vocal soloists include soprano Lynda Swinney, baritone David Swinney and tenor Don Broberg.
The West Central Singers members are from Atwater, Kerkhoven, Brooten and Willmar. They are directed by Dr. Chet Sommers; Cathie Helland is accompanist.
Concert tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and are available at the door. First Presbyterian Church is at the corner of Sixth Street West and Litchfield Avenue in Willmar.
Women's comedy in Sacred Heart
SACRED HEART -- Women Out All Night will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Community Center.
Rox Tarrant founded the group and is joined by Darlene Westgor and Jodie Maruska for this show to benefit the Sacred Heart Injury Response Team.
Tarrant has been producing the Women Out All Night comedy series for more than 12 years and was a founding member of the Minnesota Comedy Club, one of the country's only comedy clubs operated and managed by comedians, for comedians.
Westgor is the winner of Nick@Nite's Funniest Mom in America and Maruska was called one of the funniest women in Minnesota by City Pages.

Kandiyohi arts event is Saturday
KANDIYOHI -- The Kandiyohi Keeping Society will host ShayAnn Hoffer from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Whittier Hall in Kandiyohi.
The Kandiyohi artist will exhibit some of her work and talk about some of the processes used, as well as about being an artist in a small community. Everyone is welcome.
Grove City actress in comedy
HUTCHINSON -- Dessert Theatre production presents "Barefoot in the Park" at 6:30 p.m. today through Saturday and March 26-28 at the Peace center in Hutchinson.
Stacey Neuhaus from Grove City plays the part of Corie Bratter in the Neil Simon comedy, which follows the lives of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter as they adjust to married life in a tiny Greenwich Village apartment. The rest of the cast is from the Hutchinson area.
Tickets are $17.50 for dessert and the play. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. as dessert is served first and the play starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, online at www.hutchtheatre.org or by calling 320-587-2599.
