All of the proceeds of a freewill offering will benefit the Renville County Food Shelf.

Emerald Eve, Prairie Idol Saturday in Benson

BENSON -- Emerald Eve 2010 will present Prairie Idol II at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Benson Bowler.

The annual fundraiser for the Swift County-Benson Hospital will bring back the popular Prairie Idol program from last year. Proceeds from the 15th annual fundraiser will be used for the purchase of a new ambulance.

Prairie Idol II, a take-off of "American Idol," will feature Dave Schuerman as host "Ryan."

The Schuerman and three judges will greet a lineup of local contestants. While the format is similar to the television show, the emphasis is on celebrating local talent rather than selecting a winner.

In addition to the Prairie Idol program, the evening includes a social hour, dinner, a silent auction, a live auction and other activities.

Tickets are available at Breen's, Clark's, Bugs & Flowers and at the Swift County Benson Hospital. Committee members for the hospital foundation or the Emerald Eve also sell tickets.
