West Central Connection Chorus

The West Central Connection barbershop chorus presents "A Really Goodtime Spring Barbershop Show" with guest appearances by 2005 International Barbershop Quartet champion "Realtime," 'Sound Image" quartet and the Youth Festival Chorus. Emerald Eve

Benson, Saturday, 6 p.m., Benson Bowler. Emerald Eve, a fundraiser by the Swift County-Benson Hospital Foundation, will present the "Prairie Idol" music program, a social hour, dinner, silent auction and live auction. Tickets are on sale at Breen's, Clark's, Bugs and Flowers, the hospital or from foundation or Emerald Eve committee members.

New London, Sunday, 2 p.m., Little Theatre; "Arcadian Reflections" and "Custom Made" bands performing music from the 1950s and '60s; free.

Woodbury Chorus

and Orchestra

Bird Island, Sunday, 3:30 p.m., St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Woodbury Chorus and Orchestra and the Renville County Singers present "Celebration of Life" composed of choral and orchestral music including selections by Franz Schubert and Handel. Freewill donation will be given to the Renville County Food Shelf.

Legacy Chorale

Willmar, April 24, 7:30 p.m., Calvary Lutheran Church. The Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota, a Brainerd area group under the direction of Willmar native Sarah Aamot, will perform "A Clausen Collage," works by Minnesota composer Rene' Clausen. Tickets are $10 for adults with those 18 and under admitted free. They are available at Calvary Lutheran Church and at the door.

Bus trips

Jess Lourey will speak on "Writing and Publishing a Novel" at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Spicer Public Library. The Paynesville native is the author of the Murder by Month mystery series.

Monica Ferris will speak at 6:30 p.m. April 16 at the Belgrade Library. The Minnesota author has also written under the pen names of Margaret Frazer, Mary Monica Pulver, Mary Kuhfeld and Margaret of Shaftesbury. Attendance is limited to 40, call 320-254-8842 to register.

Lorna Landvick will speak at 7 p.m. April 22 at the Willmar Public Library. The Minnesota author has written several bestselling novels including "Angry Housewives Eating Bon-Bons," "Patty Jane's House of Curl" and "View from Mount Joy."
