Legacy Chorale

Willmar, Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Calvary Lutheran Church. The Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota, a Brainerd area group under the direction of Willmar native Sarah Aamot, will perform "A Clausen Collage," works by Minnesota composer Rene' Clausen; tickets are $10 for adults with those 18 and under admitted free; available at Calvary Lutheran Church and at the door.

Young Artist concert

Willmar, Sunday, 3 p.m., WEAC. The Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra presents a concert featuring the winners of the Young Artists competition. The winners are Whitney Brouwer, trumpeter from Raymond, Claudia Finsaas, violinist from New London, and Shelly Sommers, soprano from Willmar; adults $10, seniors, $9, children under 12 $5, family pack of two adults and unlimited children, $25; available at the door.

Chord Ayres

Montevideo, Sunday, 2 p.m., Fine Arts Center; Chord Ayres and the Montevideo Area Community Band concert to raise funds for the Montevideo Scholarship Fund; freewill donation.

'52 Wing Concert

Bus trips

Bus trips by community education and other non-profit groups to art related events are listed below according to the date of the event. Price must be included.

Swift County and Big Stone County libraries: Bus trip to the Minnesota History Museum on May 11 and May 15 for residents of the two counties. Free bus ride and free admittance to see the Minnesota Greatest Generation exhibit. Book lecture

Curtis Dahlin is giving a series of lectures in Renville County Libraries. He has authored several books on the Dakota War of 1862. He will speak at 2 p.m. today at the Fairfax Auditorium on "Renville County in the Dakota Uprising;" 7 p.m. today at the Bird Island Municipal Building on "The Dakota Uprising: A Pictorial History, part 2;" and at 7 p.m. April 29 at the Hector Community Center on "Trails of Tears: Minnesota's Dakota Indian Exile Begins."

Lorna Landvick will speak at 7 p.m. today at the Willmar Public Library. The Minnesota author has written several bestselling novels including "Angry Housewives Eating Bon-Bons," "Patty Jane's House of Curl," and "View from Mount Joy."

Annette Atkins will discuss her book "Creating Minnesota: A History from the Inside Out" at 3 p.m. May 1 at the Raymond Public Library. Atkins is a professor of history at St. John's University. This innovative history invites readers to experience the texture of people's lives through the decades, offering a fascinating approach to the history of our state.
