Book signings and lectures
Julie Jurgens-Shimek will sign copies of her new book "Autism is a Four Letter Word-Love" from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Lulu Beans coffee shop in Willmar.
Sacred Heart Area Historical Society will have a book signing of its new book "Sacred Heart Town and Country ... More Than a Lifetime" from 6 to 7 p.m. June 4 at the Sacred Heart Area Museum.
Vicki Myron will speak at 6:30 p.m. June 4 at the Willmar Public Library. She will speak about her book "Dewey, the Small Town Library Cat Who Touched the World." Myron, who was the head librarian at the Spencer, Iowa, town library for more than 20 years, chronicles the life of Dewey, the library's cat. The book was on the New York Times bestseller list for more than six months and she recently signed a contract for the book to be made into a film. Books will be available for sale and signing; sponsored by the Willmar Friends of the Library.
