CLARKFIELD -- Arvid "Bud" Dallas Severson, 84, of Clarkfield, died Saturday at Granite Falls Hospital following a fall at his home.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Granite Falls with military rites by American Legion Post 169 of Clarkfield.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield.
He was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Granite Falls to Sever and Anna (Jeritz) Severson. He attended school in Hanley Falls and served in the Army from 1945 to 1946.
He married Betty Bailie on Dec. 29, 1944, in Willmar. He worked for Winters Chevrolet following his discharge from the military and later worked for Minnesota Department of Transportation for 33 years. They also owned the B&B Café in Clarkfield for several years. He had been a coach for American Legion softball and baseball. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 169.
He is survived by his wife; sons: Russell of Clarkfield and Sheldon (and Lana) of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
