Assessment hearing for Diamond Lake sewer project set for Friday
WILLMAR -- An assessment hearing on a portion of the Diamond Lake sewer project will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Atwater Community Center.
The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will conduct the hearing on the proposed base assessment for the new wastewater collection system.
The $2.4 million project includes 14 miles of low-pressure sanitary sewer force main and two lift stations.
The combined cost of the improvements is the basis of the proposed $6,580 base assessment levy on the benefitting properties.
A future assessment hearing set for the fall of 2011 will address the cost of the assessments for the individual service connections and the low pressure grinder systems that will be installed through next summer.
Written or oral objections or appeals to the assessments will be considered at the hearing.
Written comments or appeals can also be sent to County Public Works Director Gary Danielson, P.O. Box 976, Willmar, MN 56201 by 4 p.m. Friday in order to be presented during the hearing.
