In some zip codes in Minneapolis the risk of experiencing a life-threatening asthma attack is nearly six times higher than it is in most other areas of the state.

Denika Jackson and her son Keontae Gaskin live at ground zero for the worst asthma problem in the Twin Cities, just a few steps away from Interstate 94 in North Minneapolis. The 55411 zip code has the highest asthma hospitalization rate in the seven-county metro area.
