CLARKFIELD — The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office will host an ATV safety training class at the Clarkfield Fire Hall starting at 10 a.m. on July 19.

Prior to attending the class, students will need to complete the ATV safety training CD, which are available at the Sheriff’s Office in Granite Falls, the Clarkfield City Hall and the Canby City Hall.

ATVs and helmets will be available, but students are welcome to bring their own. Students need to wear proper riding attire, and meet the physical requirements for the ATV they test on. Students between the ages of 11 to 15 are welcome. However, certificates are not valid until their 12th birthday.

Students 16 and older only need to complete the online/CD portion, located at the DNR website. A course fee of $10 will be paid by the student or parent when they complete the self-certification process online after the class is completed.
