Authorities investigate fire this morning in Willmar, Minn.

WILLMAR -- A fire that burned one unit of the vacant Highway 12 hotel this morning long U.S. Highway 12 East in Willmar is under investigation by local and state authorities.

According to Willmar Fire Chief Marv Calvin, the fire was reported around 7:20 a.m. this morning. Crews responded to find one unit burning and were able to contain the fire damage to that one unit.

The fire is under investigation by the Willmar fire and police department and the State Fire Marshal's office. Anyone with information should contact the Police Department at 320-235-2244, Calvin said.

Around 9 a.m., investigators hadn't yet determined if the fire was suspicious in nature.
