Bachmann to kick off North Dakota GOP rally

BISMARCK - Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, a rising face in the Republican Party, will be the featured keynote speaker at a North Dakota GOP rally in February.

The "Take Back Washington" rally and town hall meeting is open to the public and will kick off North Dakota's 2010 congressional campaigns, the state GOP said in a news release.

The state GOP praised Bachmann for her "unwavering, conservative voice and common sense approaches" to important issues.

"Now, more than ever, Washington needs to be reminded that the government answers to the people, not the other way around," Bachmann said in a statement. "I'm proud to stand alongside North Dakotans, who understand this fundamental principle."

Bachmann is in her second term representing Minnesota's Sixth District, which includes counties east, north and west of St. Paul and the cities of Stillwater and St. Cloud.

The Feb. 12 rally will be held at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck. For more information, call (701) 255-0030 or log on to www.takebackwashington.net.
