MORRIS -- Barbara Jean Larson, 83, of Morris, died Tuesday at the Courage Cottage in Morris.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Burial will be in Kongsvinger Lutheran Cemetery, rural Donnelly.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
She was born Oct. 4, 1924, in Morris to Oscar and Margaret (Thorstad) Krueger. She grew up on the family turkey farm in Framnas Township, Stevens County. She attended rural school in District 40 and graduated from Morris High School. She was 18 when her father died, and she moved to Morris with her mother and sister and went to work as a seamstress at the J.C. Penney store.
She married Paul Larson on July 17, 1944, in Morris. They lived on a farm in Framnas Township, where she was a homemaker and helped with the farm work. She worked at Super Valu from 1968 until the late 1980s. Paul died Oct. 13, 1986. She lived on the family farm until 2003, when she moved to Morris.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. She previously was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she was active with the ladies aid. For many years she was a leader of the Pep and Progress 4-H Club, and was a member of the Framnas Homemakers and the Birthday Club. She served on the American Cancer Society board and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her three children: Robert (and Gloria) Larson of San Antonio, Texas, Margaret "Maggie" Larson of Morris and Dan (and Pam) Larson of Zolfo Springs, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister: Marjorie Krueger Bengston of Minnetonka.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
