Great Northern Union Chorus

The Great Northern Union Chorus, a chapter member of the Barbershop Harmony Society has more than 90 members and is the 2011 International Silver Medalist chorus champions. It has a long tradition of entertaining audiences with "high impact harmony" and its repertoire ranges from classic to jazz, sacred and inspirational to the silver screen, patriotic to pops, barbershop, Broadway and beyond.

Benson Family Singers

The Benson Family Singers from southern Minnesota have their roots in barbershop, bluegrass, Legos and Power Rangers. They are entertaining audiences with "amazing a cappella harmonies and lots of charm."

Pete has been a barbershopper since 1984, has sung in two District Champion quartets, and is currently the director of the Great Northern Union Chorus in Minneapolis. Rachelle is an accomplished singer and violinist and is a former Sweet Adeline. David, 11, sings baritone, loves to harmonize, and has a great ear for barbershop music. Aaron, 9, is the lead. He sings one volume (not soft) and still prefers Legos to singing, but he's coming around. Luke, 7, is the manager/joke teller and is slowly working his way into the quartet.

Sound Image

The Sound Image was formed early in 2002 and has performed for audiences in Minnesota, Wisconsin, both Dakotas, Nebraska, and Manitoba. The audiences range from local private meetings and banquets to annual barbershop chapter shows, including several Sweet Adelines chapter shows.

Todd Mattison, tenor, lives north of Willmar and has been singing barbershop since he was knee-high listening to his father's quartet rehearse.

Bob Starz, baritone, lives in Atwater and has been singing barbershop music for 37 years.

William Lorenz, lead, is from Benson and has been a barbershopper since about 1988.

Kevin Kiffmeyer, bass, is from St. Cloud.
