WILLMAR -- The Barn Theatre presents the Minnesota musical "Don't Hug Me" at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday, Dec. 13-15 and 19-21, with 2:30 p.m. matinees on Sunday and on Dec. 16.
Tim Ostby and Charlie Olson play Gunner and Clara Johnson, owners of The Bunyan, a local bar in the town of Bunyan Bay, Minn.
Each winter, Gunner and Clara bicker about the worth of the bar and future of their marriage. Gunner wants to sell to local tycoon Kanute Gunderson, played by Chris Lindstrom, and move to Florida, but Clara won't budge, even if it means divorce.
Connie Olson plays the waitress Bernice Lundstrom and Brent Roelofs is the fast-talking karaoke machine salesman Aarvid Gisselsen. The songs are all parodies of popular styles.
Nikki Bettcher Erickson is the director/choreographer with Jill Benson as the music director. Carol Olson is in charge of set and technical design, with Anthony Reynolds as the technical assistant. Blake Testa runs the lights and sound.
Barb Martins was in charge of costumes with Louise Mack handling the props.
Kelsey Moe is the stage manger with Alex Reynolds as her assistant.
Pat Dokken is the assistant to the director and Brent Roelofs and Tom Rosengren did the window display.
