WILLMAR -- The Barn Theatre in downtown Willmar concludes its 2012 Summer Season with "The Dixie Swim Club" at 7:30 p.m. tonight through Saturday and Sept. 19-22.

"The play has heart and humor," says visiting guest director Jerry Morrison.

Five Southern women whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. They are played by Colleen Dorsey, Stacey Neuhaus, Nancy Rieke, Heather McCarthy and Laurie Allen.

In the span of 33 years, their lives unfold and the years pass. These women increasingly rely on one another, through advice and raucous repartee, to get through the challenges (men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, and aging) that life flings at them. And these friends, proving the enduring power of teamwork, rally 'round their own with an unflappable strength and love.

The other crew members are Aane Twedt as technical director. Jim Cofer is the assistant to director/stage manager. Sound and light design is by Christopher McAninch. Costumes are by Carol Parker, Cathy Pregler is in charge of wigs and Barb Youngberg is in charge of props.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for students.
