Barriers to Bushels Program slated Monday in Willmar
WILLMAR — To help address key management issues for corn and soybean production to west central Minnesota producers, Barriers to Bushels will be Monday at the Kandi Entertainment Center in Willmar.
This is a program developed by University of Minnesota Extension aimed at current issues and research in corn/soybean crop production with the intent to ultimately help increase a producer’s margins. Topics and presentations include managing cost of production by Bret Oelke, key soybean and corn diseases by Dean Malvick, an insect management update by Bruce Potter, and high cost management and return in soybeans by Seth Naeve.
This program is aimed at providing crop management benefits to producers and ag professionals. Program cost is $30 which includes lunch (provided courtesy of local sponsors) and handouts. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the program continues through 2:30 p.m.
Four certified crop adviser continuing education units have been applied for at the Willmar location.
