Bayer Built receives state training grant
BELGRADE -- Bayer Built Woodworks Inc. of Belgrade has received a $250,000 grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's Job Skills Partnership program to train 222 company workers.
Bayer Built manufactures and finishes millwork. The company will use the grant to train spray operators, finishing technicians, information technology staff, and sales and marketing staff in coating and wood-finishing techniques using a customized virtual reality program offered by Dakota County Technical College.
DEED Commissioner Mark Phillips said the training will improve Bayer Built's efficiency and contribute to company growth, and the college will improve its ability to teach wood-finishing and coating processes and to sell the program to other businesses in the industry.
