BBE gets No. 1 nod in Minnesota Class A tourney

The No. 1 Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars(30-0)will meet Lakeview Christian Academy (25-5) of Duluth in the Class A quarterfinals on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

The Jaguars, the 2011 runner-up, were voted No. 1 by coaches and Southwest Minnesota Christian (26-1)of Edgerton No. 2. Lakeview was one of four unseededs entered in the ramdom draw.

The Lions,an independant, have one of the state's most spectacular players in junior Anders Broman. He is averaging about 45 points per game, is closing in on 4,000 career points and scored 71 points in February in a 114-110 loss to the Melrose Dutchmen.

The Class AA seed and draw will be Sunday. Section 7AA is being decided tonight in a game featuring Esko and Braham at UM-Duluth.Litchfield won the 6AA title on Friday and will play Wednesday evening.
