Cassandra Johnson, 16, of Willmar won the female division and was fourth overall in a time of 21:38. A cross-county, gymnastics and track athlete, she will be a junior at Willmar High School. This was her first citizen-race win.

There were 72 finishers in the 5k compared to 80 a year ago. The 1k-run and 5k/1k leisure walk drew an additional 50 registrations.

Bell, who ran for the Jaguars in the fall and spring, plans to attend Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., starting in fall.

Proceeds from the event, which honors the memory of deceased BBE athlete Jesse Mithaugen, support youth and family events at PWELC.
