GLENWOOD -- Benjamin "Ben" Bagne Troen, 75, of Glenwood, died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Indherred Lutheran Church near Starbuck. inurnment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
He was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Glenwood to Magnus and Martha (Bagne) Troen. He grew up on a farm in Minnewaska Township and attended school in Glenwood. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1951. After high school, he helped his father on the farm and eventually took it over. He continued to farm until 1993 when he sold the farm and moved into Glenwood. He worked at Fleet Supply until he retired.
He was a member of Indherred Lutheran Church. He served as the Sunday school superintendent for 13 years and held various church offices. He was a member of the Jaycees and played baseball on the Starbuck and Lowry teams.
He is survived by his siblings: David (and Inez) Troen of Glenwood and Hannah (and Karle) Erickson of Eden Prairie.
