Bernice Kathleen Lindquist was born April 4, 1915, in St Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Rose (Truhler) Weinert. Bernice was baptized, received First Communion and was confirmed at St Vincents Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. She attended Washington High School. Following high school, she was employed at Louis F. Dow Company. On September 4, 1937, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Lindquist at the parsonage of St Vincents Church. They were blessed with three children. They lived in St Paul for 10 years, then moved to their farm at Pennock, Minnesota. They continued to live on the farm for 53 years until November, 2000, when they moved to Westview Village in Willmar. Lloyd passed away the following March. Bernice continued to live there until October, 2009, when she moved to Sunrise Village. She spent four years at Sunrise and it truly became a home. She enjoyed visiting with everyone on the staff and they became a second family. She would always remember what was going on in each of their lives. Our family will always be grateful for the kindness and care she was given there. When illness made it necessary to receive more help, she moved to Valley Brook of Willmar. She lived there until her death on February 18, 2014. She was 98 years of age.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake, where she was active in the W.E.L.C.A. She was a member of Willmar VFW Auxiliary #1637, and a former member of the Sunburg VFW and Pennock Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children: Beverly and Vernon Jellum of Marine on St Croix, MN, Darlene and Gordon Peterson of West Yellowstone, MT, John and Ardis Lindquist of Pennock, MN; grandchildren: Linda (David) Grant, Gregory (Ellen) Jellum, Susan (Robert) Ward, Mark (Kathy) Peterson, Timothy (Katie) Peterson, Tamara (John) Tufte, and Nicole (Randy) Zeman; great-grandchildren: Brian Grant, Amy (Peter) Awker, Bradley and Matthew Jellum, Andrew and Kelsey Peterson, Natalie and Duncan Tufte, Adeline and Charles Brutger. Also surviving is her brother, Kenneth (JoAnn) Weinert of St Paul, MN; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her husband, Lloyd, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Evelyn Dittrich, and brother, Roy Weinert.
