DAWSON -- Bertram Louis Schilling, 91, of Dawson died Saturday at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Hanson and Dahl Funeral Home of Dawson is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Nov. 9, 1917, at St. Louis, Mo., to Hugo and Cecilia (Balz) Schilling. He grew up and attended school in St. Louis.
He married Wilma Mueller and later Corinne Edwards. He worked as an engineer for McDonnell before moving to Grand Junction, Colo., in the late 1960s. He owned and operated a motel there and sold it in the late 1970s.
He is survived by two children: David Schilling of St. Louis and Carla (and Jeff) Johnson of Montevideo; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by one brother and his second wife.
