Betty I. Nagel Sept. 26, 1926 - June 26, 2009
MONTEVIDEO -- Betty Irene Nagel, 82, of Montevideo, died Friday at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Watson to Ben and Ida (Allickson) Ovre. She attended rural schools and graduated from Milan High School in 1944.
She married Earl Gilbertson. After he died, she married Vernon Nagel on Nov. 19, 1949, in Montevideo. They lived in Montevideo until moving to Mankato in 1975 and to Lakeville in 1978. They returned to Montevideo in 1986.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was active in the church women's groups.
She is survived by one daughter: Beverly Nagel of Northfield; one son: Gary Nagel of Shoreview; two grandchildren; and one brother: Gifford Ovre of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Vernon, in 1997; one son: Loren Gilbertson; one brother; and one sister.
