Bicyclist killed near Belgrade, Minn.

BELGRADE -- The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident involving a semi and a bicycle early this morning on U.S. Highway 71 south of Belgrade.

The male driver of the bicycle was killed, according to information provided on the State Patrol's media information website. The man's name has not been released.

Brian L. Anderson, 50, of Belgrade, was driving a 1999 International semi southbound on Highway 71 at the time of the incident just before 5 a.m., according to the description provided by the State Patrol. Anderson was not injured.

The accident occurred at or near the intersection with Kandiyohi County Road 34.

No other details were immediately available.
