OLIVIA — A community notification meeting regarding Jeffrey Joseph Lingl will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 the Bird Island Municipal Building.

According to Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable, the release of information about Lingl is required by the state statute that authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a Level 3 sexual or predatory offender’s release from prison or a secure treatment facility when law enforcement believes that the release of information will enhance public safety and protection.

Lingl moved on Jan. 18 into a home in Bird Island Township of Renville County. He has been convicted of criminal sexual conduct or another offense that requires registration with law enforcement pursuant to state law. He has a history of sexual contact with female victims (ages 4 to adult). This offender was known to his victims.

This offender is not wanted by the police at this time and has served the sentence imposed on him by the court.

Representatives from the Department of Corrections and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office will be available at the meeting to provide useful information on public safety.
