Blanche E. Larson April 10, 1928 - Dec. 28, 2012
NEW LONDON - Blanche E. Larson, 84 of New London, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church near New London. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
Blanche Eunice Larson was born on April 10, 1928 on the family farm in Norway Lake Township, the daughter of Melvin and Alma (Gunderson-Spaanun) Evenson. She attended country grade school in rural Sunburg. On Dec. 2, 1944, Blanche was united in marriage to Roger Larson at the Brooten church parsonage.
The union was blessed with two sons. They made their home west of New London where she worked as a homemaker. Blanche and Roger were able to share in 63 years of marriage before Rogers death on July 22, 2008.
Blanche was a member of East Norway Lake Lutheran Church where she was active in the ladies aide. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, meeting her Norway Lake friends for coffee and saving her quarters for an occasional trip to the casino with her sister, Eldora.
She is survived by sons, Howard Larson of New London and Dale (fiancé, Pam) Larson of Belgrade; grandchildren, Shannon (Michael) Shun, Tanya Larson, Dawn Larson, Laurie Larson (fiancé, Luke), Gary (Brandi) Larson; great-grandchildren, Maranda, Samantha, Rebecca, Landon, Devin, Dylan, Drystan, Daemin and Haylea; siblings, Phyllis (Larry) Isaak, Donald (Donna) Evenson and Jimmie Evenson; sisters-in-law, Helen Johnson, Geraldine Larson and Beverly Evenson; brothers-in-law, Weldon (Beulah) Larson, Richard (Betty) Larson, Bill (Alice) Larson and Kenneth Wallin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; siblings, Eldora Wallin, Dolores Hagen, Marvin Evenson and Wayne Evenson; parents and great-granddaughter, Adalee Lodermeier.
