WINTHROP -- A 13-year-old boy from Winthrop was transported Saturday to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis after suffering injuries when the bicycle he was riding collided with a semi.
According to the State Patrol, Jacob Weber was riding his bicycle with a group of juveniles around 2:30 p.m. Saturday on state Highway 15 in Sibley County when he crossed in front of a northbound 2007 Mack truck driven by Andrew Damhoff, 23, of Blomkest.
Weber was transported to HCMC and was initially listed in critical condition. The State Patrol released conflicting information Sunday regarding Weber's condition, which was unknown at press time.
Damhof was not injured.
Alcohol was not a contributing factor in the incident, according to the State Patrol report.
