Brenda Barber of Blomkest placed as first runner-up in the adult division of the Minnesota "Make It With Wool" contest Dec. 4 at Jackpot Junction in Morton.
It was held in conjunction with the Minnesota Lamb and Wool Producers Annual Conference. There were 50 entries in four age divisions along with Made for Others, Quilt/Afghan and Novelty categories using more than 200 yards of wool fabric or yarn to create their garments and other wool items.
The purpose of the "Make It With Wool" contest is to focus attention on the beauty and versatility of wool, to encourage the use of wool fabric or yarn in sewing, knitting or crocheting fashionable garments. Contestants must use fabric or yarn of at least 60 percent wool. Wool prizes were awarded to each contestant.
