Body found in area home destroyed by fire

BIG KANDIYOHI LAKE -- An unidentified body was found Wednesday in the remains of a house on Big Kandiyohi Lake that was destroyed by an explosion followed by a fire.

The Blomkest Fire Department was called to respond to a possible house explosion and fire located on 126th Avenue on the northeast side of Big Kandiyohi Lake.

Members of Kandiyohi County Sheriff's office and the Minnesota Fire Marshall's office were called to the scene to assist with an investigation, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

During the course of the investigation, the body was found in the burned structure.

The ongoing investigation will be conducted by the fire marshall and the sheriff's office.
