Renata Fernandez-Ramon was identified Friday by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, where the body was transported after being recovered by the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, assisted by the Ortonville Police Department and Big Stone County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release from Ortonville Police Chief James Mork, a landowner contacted the Big Stone County Sheriff's Office Wednesday about what appeared to be a freshly dug area on his property.

The landowner had noticed the apparent digging earlier in the month and contacted the sheriff when he learned about Fernandez-Ramon being missing, according to the release.

Ortonville Police continue to investigate, assisted by the BCA and Sheriff's Office.

There is no threat to the public, according to the release, and the department is not releasing any more information at this time.
