Amanda Kate Boser of Rice and Troy Thomas Gjerde of Pennock are engaged to be married Oct. 20 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman.

She is a graduate of Onamia High School and Bemidji State University.
She is employed as a teacher by Becker Intermediate School in Becker.
Gjerde is the son of Tom and Sandy Gjerde of Pennock.
He is a graduate of Willmar Senior High School.
He is employed full-time by the Minnesota National Guard.
