Boxing: Zavala wins at Wadena G.G. bouts

Eloy Zavala won a decision over a more-experienced opponent on Saturday in Region 4 Golden Gloves on Saturday at the Wadena armory. The 120-pound Willmar fighter knocked Albert Boldt (27 bouts) down in the second while carrying all three rounds. It was Zavala's seventh bout.

Rookie Joel Sanchez, 16, had the early advantage on Amar Kovecievic of Fargo but backed off due to inexperience and lost the decision in the 172-pound weight class.
