Boys Basketball: ACGC knocks Morris Area from top perch in WC South

GROVE CITY -- A late surge in the first half lifted Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City past Morris as the Falcons went on to post a 63-55 win in a West Central South Conference boys basketball game Tuesday.

The loss bumped Morris into a second-place tie with ACGC. Montevideo (5-1) leads alone.

Morris (5-2, 8-3) bolted to a 25-15 lead in the game's opening minutes before ACGC went on a 21-6 run to end the first half. The Falcons (4-2, 8-3) would relinquish the lead in the second half.

Jordan Tanner had 21 points, Jeff Peterson 12 and Brooks Maurer 10 to spark the Falcons' offense. Kurtis Huisman piled up 11 rebounds and four steals.

Chris Scott collected 20 points and eight rebounds and Jackson Henrich netted 10 points to pace the Tigers.

Dominic Devine led Litchfield with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Steve Hendrickson tossed in 11 points and Andrew Whitchurch 10 for the Dragons.

Cole Ranzau had 18 points and Kaine Dummer 16 to pace Glencoe-Silver Lake (2-2, 7-7), which shot 54 percent.
