Boys basketball: ACGC makes 1st trip to state

MANKATO — Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City is going to the state basketball tournament for the first time.

The Falcons beat Section 2A-South champion United South Central 69-61 on Friday at Minnesota State-Mankato.

The win ended the 13-game winning streak of the Rebels, who upset Mountain Lake Area in the semifinals on Tuesday.  

ACGC took an eight-point lead with 1:43 remaining, but USC cut it to three on a 3-pointer and a Brett Pederson layup at 1:19.
