Boys basketball: Anderson, Maass lead GSL over NLS

NEW LONDON — Ethan Maass, a 6-1 senior guard and a 1,000-point scorer, finished with 32 points to lead the Panthers to a 74-60 Wright County victory in the New London-Spicer gym on Thursday.
Glencoe-Silver Lake also got a big contribution from 6-foot-2 sophomore guard Keaton Anderson; the silky lefthander ended up with 21 points and 7 assists.
The Wildcats trailed 32-26 at half but rallied.
Trent Boie sank at trey at 12:37 of the second to get the Cats within three of the lead, 43-40, but the Panthers held firm.
Joey Dreier with 19 points and Ryan Vraa with 14 led NLS in scoring.
GSL shot 57 percent (25 of 44), including 6 of 11 from the bonus line.
