Boys basketball: BBE extends winning streak to 49

BROOTEN — The defending Class A champion Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars stretched their winning streak to 49 games Friday after overwhelming Holdingford 65-32 in a Central Minnesota Conference contest.

Just three players scored in double figures for the top-ranked Jaguars with Billy Borgerding pacing the way with 15 points. Brian Goodwin followed with 14 and Alex Wosmek added another 12 as BBE shot just under 50 percent from the field.

Borgerding also led the team with 8 rebounds while Goodwin handed out 8 assists and James Kuefler piled up 9 points, 6 steals and 3 assists.

The Jaguars led 38-11 at halftime and put running time in effect midway through the second half.
