Boys basketball: BBE spoils Tigers' opener

BROOTEN — A second-half rally that actually got started late in the first half allowed Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa to grind out a 53-46, non-conference win over visiting Morris/Chokio-Alberta Tuesday.
The Tigers, playing in their opener, were in front 26-19 at one point before BBE (3-0) scored the final two buckets of the first half to go into the locker room down only 26-23.
The teams fought to a 37-all tie midway through the second half before BBE pulled ahead 39-37, a score that would stand for about five minutes before the Jaguars pulled away by getting some fastbreak baskets and sinking their free throws.
