MONTEVIDEO -- Aaron Lindahl netted 43 points behind five 3-pointers and Benson outlasted Montevideo down the stretch as the Braves knocked the Thunder Hawks out of a first-place tie in the West Central South Conference boys basketball race by collecting a 62-57 win Thursday.

Neither team had a substantial lead, but Benson (6-5, 9-9) did shoot a little better from the field than Montevideo (7-3, 13-4).

The Thunder Hawks led 56-55 with 2½ minutes remaining, but Lindahl answered a Montevideo three-pointer with one of his own to put Benson ahead for good at 58-56. The senior guard had 25 points in the second half.

Eric Brandon had 12 points and Ryan Boike 10 to pace a balanced attack for the Thunder Hawks.

Trent Neisen's three-pointer at the buzzer lifted the Warriors (4-7, 7-9) to the win.

Tyler Hebrink led BOLD with 18 points and Neisen finished with 13 points and six rebounds.

Nathan Nietfeld led the Bulldogs with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Jamison Wall followed with 16 points.
