The Blackjacks improved to 9-1 and solid defense made the difference as they clung to a one-point lead in the final 22 seconds. Worthington fell to 6-3.

Dawson-Boyd led by one but missed the front end of a bonus free throw situation. The Blackjacks forced Worthington into a bad shot but fouled Trojans during a loose-ball scramble with less than two seconds left. But the Trojans missed both free throws and the Blackjacks rebounded and ran out the clock.

The Blackjacks’ Michael Lee had a game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds and Nathaniel Huot hit four 3-point shots and finished with 22 points to go along with his 4 steals. Joey Lee had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists.

Dawson-Boyd is at Camden Conference rival Canby (7-2) on Thursday.
