Boys Basketball: Broman sets state hoops scoring record

HIBBING, Minn. (AP) — Lakeview Christian Academy senior guard Anders Broman is now Minnesota’s all-time leading scorer in boys’ basketball.
Broman scored 42 points in the Lions’ 100-87 victory over Mesabi East in the opening round of the Hibbing Holiday Tournament Thursday night. That gives Broman 4,122 career points to surpass the 4,086 credited to Minnesota Transitions’ Kevin Noreen.
The Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/W5B8S9) reports Broman’s younger brother, sophomore guard Bjorn Broman, provided the assist on his older sibling’s record-breaking field goal.
Bjorn Broman picked up a loose ball and passed it to Anders Broman, who sank a 17-foot jump shot to break the record.
