Benson (0-1, 0-2) got a couple of free throws in the closing seconds, but it couldn’t capitalize on two steals in the game’s final moments.

Dylan Erickson had 15 points to lead all scorers and be the only Eagle to score in double figures. LQPV (1-0, 2-1) also got 8 points each from Garrett Olson and Dazhown Coleman, who also had a game-high 9 rebounds.

Matt Ahrndt scored 13 points and Colin Ose produced another 12 to pace the Braves. Ahrndt also pocketed 7 steals and Ose and Jacob Goff had 6 rebounds each.

Poor shooting hindered Benson’s chance of sending LQPV home a loser as the Braves were 1-for-19 from three-point range and 9-for-21 from the free throw line. LQPV attempted just three foul shots and made two of them.
