Boys Basketball: Felt breaks Redwood scoring mark; second all-time in area scoring

REDWOOD FALLS -- Mike Felt became Redwood Valley's all-time leading scorer and the No. 2 scorer on the West Central Tribune's all-time list in a 77-52 Southwest Conference boys basketball victory over Luverne Friday.

Felt scored 40 points and now has 2,221. He passed Luke Jimenez's 2,189 points -- set in 1996 -- on the Cardinals' list, and overtook Jon Hagen of Belview, who finished his career in 1957 with 2,198 points.

Felt also made seven of the Cardinals' eight 3-pointers.

Trevor Goblirsch added 17 points for Redwood Valley (10-1, 16-3). Erich Panitzke grabbed seven rebounds.

The Wolverines (19-0) sank 23-of-28 free throws to hold its own against the Warriors (7-10).

Shaun Condon led MACCRAY with 27 points, followed by Seth Hinrichs with 24 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Dammann dished out eight assists.

Dylan Gass made five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points for BOLD. Ross Nelson added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Trent Neisen had 11 points and eight rebounds.
