Boys Basketball: Martin's 30-point effort boosts ACGC past YME

GROVE CITY -- Michael Martin scored a career-high 30 points to propel Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City to a 64-55 victory over Yellow Medicine East in a West Central South Conference game Tuesday.

Martin, a 6-1 senior wing, connected on 9 of 14 shots from the field, including 2 of 3 from three-point range, and cashed all 10 of his free-throw attempts. He also had seven rebounds and five assists.

Justin Schroeder added 12 points and Micah Nordin nine for the Falcons (5-2).

For YME (5-2), Joey Coubal had 15 points, Luke Berg 12 and Casey Luepke 10.

Morris (2-0, 2-4) drained 10 three-pointers -- five from Chase Rambow -- and led the entire way en route to handing Benson (1-1, 4-1) its first loss.

Rambow finished with 15 points with Andy Lembcke following with 14. Tyler Wiegman grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds while also handing out four assists.

Joey Fragodt had 12 points while Daniel Fragodt and Aaron Hagen both 10 more for Benson. Daniel Fragodt also hooked 12 rebounds and came up with four steals.

Montevideo (1-0, 5-0) ended the first half with a 29-9 run to take a comfortable 36-15 lead at halftime.

Jon Altena had 17 points, Tyler Grey 15, Tramel Barnes 12 and Zach Bothun 11 to help keep Montevideo unbeaten. Grey drained three 3-pointers while Barnes scored 10 points in the first half.

Jacob Brustuen had 13 points and five assists, while Craig Kohout and Justin Fahse had seven points apiece for BOLD (0-2, 0-6).
