BIRD ISLAND -- Ryan Boike drained six 3-pointers and Jeff Jerve posted another double-double for Montevideo as the Thunder Hawks kept their slim hopes alive of claiming a piece of the West Central South Conference title by upending BOLD 65-50 Tuesday.

The Thunder Hawks improved to 11-3 in the conference and remained one game behind Morris (13-2) in the loss column. Montevideo has two conference games left (home against Benson and at Minnewaska) while Morris has just one remaining (at Paynesville).

Jerve and Boike nearly outscored BOLD (5-9, 9-12) by themselves with their combined 48 points as Eric Brandon, Montevideo's leading scorer, missed the game with an ankle injury. Jerve had 17 of his game-high 28 points in the first half and Boike finished with 20 points.

Trent Neisen had 14 points and Dylan Gass netted 13 more to pace BOLD.

Benson poured in 45 points in the first half en route to its fourth straight win. Aaron Lindahl had 13 of his game-high 28 points in the first half. Also in the first 18 minutes, Jeff Berens scored all 12 of his points, Dan Martin scored all nine of his points and Steven James had eight of his 12 points for the Braves (9-5, 13-9).

James and Lindahl had 11 rebounds each. Lindahl also dished out eight assists.

Jordan Tanner had 13 points and Joel Slinden 10 for ACGC (7-7, 12-11).
