MONTEVIDEO -- Pierce Peters reached the 1,000-point career mark, but it wasn't enough for Minnewaska as Montevideo tipped the Lakers 62-59 in the West Central South Conference finale for both teams Tuesday.

Peters, who needed two points, finished with 14 and got to the personal milestone on a free throw early in the first half. No other information was available at press time.

Peters is the seventh boy to reach the 1,000-point mark in the area this season.

The Lakers took a 30-27 halftime lead, but the Thunder Hawks (12-4, 17-7), who finished second in the conference race, came back with 35 second-half points. Jeff Jerve paced Montevideo with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Boike sank all four 3-pointers for the Thunder Hawks and added 15 points. Eric Brandon, who missed the last two games with an ankle injury, chipped in 13 points.

Brady Johnsrud and Ben Peters scored 11 points each for Minnewaska (6-9, 10-13). Pierce Peters added 10 rebounds and Johnsrud had six assists.

Aaron Lindahl scored 40 points to lead the Braves (11-6, 15-9) to a regular- and conference-season ending victory.

Lindahl also pulled down eight rebounds.
