MONTEVIDEO -- Sparked by four 3-pointers and 23 points from Jon Altena, Montevideo stymied Yellow Medicine East 66-51 Friday in the West Central South Conference to remain unbeaten.

Montevideo, who owned a slim 30-28 lead at halftime, shot 54 percent from the field and outrebounded YME 38-27.

The Thunder Hawks (6-0, 11-0) also got 19 points from Tyler Grey and 10 points and three steals from Tramel Barnes.

Luke Berg netted 16 points to pace YME (3-3, 9-4).

Daniel Fragodt hit for 23 points in a balanced Braves' attack that saw them leading 42-28 at intermission.

Fragodt, who also had eight rebounds and four steals, was backed by Tyler Guest with 19 points, Joey Fragodt and and Jesse Holm with 14 each and Aaron Hagen with eight. Holm also supplied 11 rebounds. The Braves shot 52 percent.

R.J. Strand led Lac qui Parle Valley with 24 points, 16 in the second half. Brady VanderVelde added 17 and Adam Paulson 13.

Morris (3-3, 4-8) closed out the first half with an 8-2 run to seize control. Taylor Witt with 15 points and Tyler Wiegman 14 paced the Tigers' attack. Witt also dished out nine assists while Wiegman grabbed seven rebounds.
